My experiences with photography are very limited to my wife taking photos of us. I do not own a camera, I do not take pictures with my phone (unless it is for this class) and I do not enjoy taking photos. Only since owning a iPhone do I now take any photos. I would never know that about me if you entered my house because there are photos everywhere. The reason for so many photos is because my wife loves taking pictures of everything. I do not have a approach to taking photos, if I have to take a picture, then I open the app and take a picture of whatever I want to take a picture of. I do not have any meaning for taking pictures, I guess if I am with a group of people and I want to photograph the event I take a picture to remember the time we spent together. Time with a group of people is a special event, so I would say that I capture that feeling well.
After watching the video and reading about photography, I would say I need a different approach. One thing I would change is to understand how to make the photo better for my audience. Maybe add visual aids and make sure to have a human connection in there as well. Feeling and emotions are strong parts of what makes a photo great and I honestly never thought about how a photo would make someone feel something. Even the lighting of the photo and the color really capture the nature of what the person is trying to create. Turning a 3-d image into a 2-d image can be hard because you have to capture everything that you are trying put in your story.
